Beth's current show is 100% HAPPY 88% OF THE TIME. It has been presented by LA Public Library's 'Aloud' series, the Comedy Central Stage, M-Bar, Highways and Urban Yoga, Writers Boot Camp, Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, the Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner AArts Cetner at the LA Gay & Lesbian Center, Myrna Loy Center for the Performing Arts and the Improv Lab Theater.

Her past shows include HAVING FUN IN THE DARK, CRASH COURSE, GLOBE-O-MANIA, BETH OF BOTH WORLDS, CRASH COURSE, PARTY PANTS, A GOOD AMERICAN NOVEL, GIRLS & SCIENCE.

Her theater work been critically acclaimed and she has recived NEA grants for them. She's toured them nationally and internationally at such venues as: the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), Institute of Contemporary Arts (Boston), HBO's UC Comedy Arts Festival, The Kitchen, Highways, HBO Workspace, Solo Mio Festival, PS122, Harbourfront Theatre (Toronto), Brandeis University, Oberlin College, Echo Theater (Portland), Coast Playhouse, New Mexico Repertory Theater, Contemporary Art Center (Cincinnati), Cal Arts, Franklin Furnace, Third Eye Center (Glasgow), and many other clubs, colleges, art spaces and theaters.

Beth specializes in playing eccentric authority figures.

She played the performance artist in the episode where Carrie meets Alexander on "Sex and the City". She's also appeared in a number of indie films and was the first guest star on Will & Grace except all that's left of that performance is one frame of her shoulder. Such is acting.

Beth stand-up helped define alternative comedy: personal, revealatory and smart.

Before founding and hosting The Un-Cabaret she worked at countless clubs including The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, Catch A Rising Star, Comedy U, The Comic Strip and The Ed Wynn Comedy Room. She's also performed at benefits for dozens of progressive political and social organizations, including the Drug Policy Alliance, PEN, DPA, NOW, Feral Cat Alliance, Barbara Boxer, Sunset Hall, and the Bohemian Womens Political Alliance.

Beth is an illuminating, inspiring and funny speaker.

Beth has spoken to the Women's Club of Pasadena and the Big Thinking Women who named her a Big Thinking Woman. She has given seminars and lectures at Brown University, Cal Arts, University of Iowa, privately and has sat on panels at the West Hollywood Book Fair, Skirball Center and others. She is a recognized authority on comedy and creativity and is available for public appearances and private events. Her topics include:

Beth Lapides campaigns to be First LadyTHE FIRST LADY CAMPAIGN

During the 1992 Presidential election, Beth ran a guerrilla media campaign to make First Lady an elected position. It was featured on CNN, in People and Interview Magazine. Beth attended the Democratic National Convention as a correspondent for the visionary CamNet network. She received as many electoral votes as Ross Perot and spent millions less.
