Friday the 13th Luck: The Good the Bad and the Hugly
The fact that Friday the 13th is considered bad luck is one of the most regressive repressive omnipresent memes we have going. But we can turn the beat around on the 13 vibration.
In the Tarot the 13th card is... drum roll please... The Death Card!!!
Tarot readers always try to reassure us that the Death Card does not necessarily mean physical death. That the Death Card can be any sort of death. And rebirth! Sure. Sure it does.
Of course death and rebirth is another way of saying CHANGE. And change is hard. It usually makes us unhappy. Even "good" change. That's why the first year of even great marriages are the hardest. Why buyers remorse happens after even excellent purchases. Why going to bed and waking up are difficult.
Change is hard because we cling. So change makes us unhappy. But we have to change to be happy. Because life is change - and we're alive. Right? Which means... We have to be unhappy to be happy!
The fact that change is hard has never bothered me. I like hard things. Get your mind out of the toilet! Not just hard bodies;) Working hard. Hard ideas. Hard poses in yoga. There is virtue in mastering - mistressing - the difficult. In working hard on hard things. Believing that things that come too easily can’t be trusted. And this is a belief that I am working hard to stop clinging to.
