GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNESS PROJECT: The Silver Lining of 9/11

Here on earth it is not always reported, but the raising of consciousness - the being aware of consciousness - the consciousness of consciousness - or consciousness sqaured - is The Big Thing That Is Really Going On.
The silver lining to every major disaster from The Exxon Valdez to 9/11 to Princess Diana's departure, is that they are all part of the University of Consciousness that we have all matriculated in.
Some of us are doing the work on yoga mats and meditation pillows, some in bedrooms and gardens, some out on fields and in courts, some in hospitals and soup kitchens. And there are some - whom I think of as technosseurs - doing the work in engineering labs.
GLOBAL CONSCIOUSNESS PROJECT is run by a smarty pants Princeton prof (formerly part of the now-closed PEAR - Princeton Engineering Anomilies Research) and the good people over at the Center for Noetics. Through their network of EGGs (their name for Random Event Generators) they're able to track variations in Global Consciousness - and even more basically - to actually prove that a global consciousness exists.
"100% Happy 88% of the Time" Benefit for The National Women's Political Caucus - JUST 'UP-SCHEDULED' FOR AUG. 26
We were planning on doing a benefit performance of "100% Happy 88% of the Time" for the femme-tastic National Women's Political Caucus California on May 20, but the NWPC wants to re-schedule the event to celebrate the 90th anniversary of women's right to vote (!) on August 26. So stay tuned for details.
The NWPC is an amazingly wonderful org founded in 1971 by feminist powerhouses Shirley Chishom, Bella Abzug, Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan. They support progressive women running for office with both training and funding, and have had great success actually getting progressive women elected. (Though they haven’t be able to free them of those horrible ill-fitting cookie-cutter suits;)
I happen to be of the opinion that a lot of what has to change has to change in each of us individually. But there is some change that has to happen "outside" of us. Unbelievably we still haven’t passed the ERA. And women are still making 77 cents or less on men's dollars. Violence against women is still rampant, et-sadly-cetera.:=[
I believe we do need more women, especially the progressive women NWPC is helping to get elected, in politics in order to help move these things along (while at the same time remembering that all progress is illusory and linear time doesn't exist:) Interestingly, they point out that women typically come to politics to solve a problem. They come as moms, nurses, and teachers. They don't usually come with same monied and influential networks that men do. The Caucus exists to overcome those problems by leveling the playing field.
The benefit is going to be at the beautiful and comfortable Renberg Theater - aka The Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Center (two ladies we love) - at the LA Gay and Lesbian Center, Thursday, May 20, 8pm at 1125 N. McCadden Pl. West Hollywood 90038.
There will be a VIP reception from 7-8pm with yummies and wine and tarot/palm readers aka intuitive artists roaming and reading! Tickets are $25 students / $35 / $50 VIP* / $99 VIP + annual membership.
Call 951-461-4828 or CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS.
The organizers for the NWPC have a great energy and I'm really excited about what promises to be one of those special evenings. Please do join me and Greg and the rest of the team in creating a world that is at least 88% better for humans of the female kind.
