It’s A Lot is a sequin-bright solo show from LA comedy icon and UnCabaret creator Beth Lapides featuring Beth's unique blend of stand-up, storytelling, pep talk and music. It’s a hilarious, soul-baring dive into the chaos of now.

The show is about change - and how our personal transformation is connected to the change we are living through and creating together.

Beth’s story — sobriety, divorce, spiritual awakening, UnCabaret’s resurrection, and a run-in with a would-be mugger—becomes a lens for the big question: What kind of change does it take to survive, thrive, and even drive this 'Goo Age'?

One moment you’re laughing about pool-party sobriety, real estate, or AI affairs. The next, you’re crying about angels. Through razor-sharp storytelling and original music (with musical direction by Mitch Kaplan), Beth invites us to laugh at the madness, feel the feels, and find meaning in the mess. This is the spectrum. This is the spiral. This is the story of becoming.

What People Are Saying

“More than the Godmother of Alternative Comedy, Beth Lapides is a cultural treasure whose storytelling skills are topped only by her ability to attract and inspire other storytellers to innovate and create at their highest levels. I’ve had the good fortune of watching Beth’s latest solo show, It’s A Lot, through several iterations, and it is pure delight. With her trademark wit and musical flare, she plumbs the depths of her own colorful history, mining stories that are as relatable as they are entertaining as they are transformative.”

— Corny Koehl
Emmy Award Winning Producer Co-Creator “Super Soul Sunday”

“When I went to see Beth Lapides’s new show, IT’S A LOT, I knew I was going to hear some very big ideas. I also knew that I would laugh (a lot) and that I would think about it (a lot) for a long time after. I was right. IT’S A LOT is filled with huge ideas about Transformation and the struggle to live in the world. It’s also wildly funny. The only way I can describe what Beth Lapides does onstage is to call her a “stand-up philosopher.”

— Tracy Poust
Executive Producer “Will & Grace”
